This island was once the northern portion of Angvild Isle, an alien landmass pulled into this world during the Creation War ( 8602 DE ) . In the Lith-Crillion Era, Angvild split, with its larger northern half drifting northward. This event recurred in the Horgon Era with the cracking of Wynvild, causing the island to separate and leave Torvild Isle as the northernmost chain of three great islands that, were it not for the seabed, would float upon the waves like immense barges.

The channel separating Tovild and Wynvild is the northern arm of Warvild's Fingers. This perilous debris field of jagged spires, treacherous reefs, and shallow waters, scattered with the remnants of shattered islands, poses a grave threat to vessels navigating its treacherous expanse. Beyond these formidable obstacles, the area serves as the domain of sahuagin, harpies, and other voracious predatory entities.

In the early days of the First Epoch, the esteemed Llydaros family were cast out to this remote island. Their ill-fated involvement in the Dark Revolt transformed the island into the domain of idiosyncratic undead lords and their community of eccentric crafters, musicians, artists, and builders.

Pirates, and empires of the caliber of the Khazarkar Empire and Ba'lith trade slaves with Torvild's undead enclaves. These captives serve as the sole method for the islands to sustain their populations.

The three strongholds of the island warn the living not to venture into the interior. They assert they possess no governance over the untamed interior and cannot fully safeguard those within their settlements. Consequently, commerce with the outside world is typically conducted at the Manes Chimneys.
