Chemosh is a glacial vale within the Gelugon Range. At its most profound, the glacier measures a colossal five hundred feet in thickness. These deeper recesses are a sprawling labyrinth of tunnels and chambers, serving as the domicile for ice mephits, ice trolls, frost giants, Thrallrir, and other fearsome icy denizens.
In the year 1043, the opening of the rift known as the Caina Nexus resulted in a slight increase in ice and snow accumulating in the surrounding region. An icy current, more lightweight than the typical glacial ice in the area, flows into the valley, gradually hardening into a distinctive blue-black ice. Remarkably durable and resilient, this alien ice is utilized in frigid locales to construct structures possessing the same level of strength as stone.
Chemosh is fraught with peril. Aside from the dangers of encountering skin-numbing ice, there are unnatural blizzards and numerous ice-dwelling brutes. The most prevalent are ice mephits and ice trolls. All the progenitors of these creatures were stranded in this realm when the rift opened. For a brief period, it served as a conduit between Bal-Kriav and the world of Caina. Fortunately for the local populace, only a few hundred creatures crossed over, and not an entire army of devils.
The perilous nature of this region, with its rift to a world within the Hells System, necessitated the construction of outposts and fortified mountain strongholds overlooking Chemosh. These are garrisoned by forces from the Council of Bile, Malacost, and CelebriƤn, tasked with vigilantly monitoring for unwelcome outsiders and interlopers.
