The ascent of Tempestant to notoriety commenced on Geb's Rain. In the 792 Bombing of Geb, during Tempestant's 150 th year of mortal life, she labored to shatter the established customs of her people. These fellow Norderns were renowned for their reverence of nothing save their own undertakings. She implored them to turn to prayer, to beseech aid, for the evidence was clear and known to all - ancient ruins across their world pointed to these asteroid bombings as calamitous events for civilization.
On 18 Brightstar 792, along with the entire city around her, Tempestant perished in a Bombing of Geb. Yet her ideas and words continued to resonate after her demise. Telepathic messages, psychically programmed into dolphins and other intelligent aquatic lifeforms, conveyed Tempestant's teachings, imploring her people that technology could only take them so far. Starting as druidic cults, it took three decades for the Norderns to establish a Church devoted to Tempestant - a remarkable first for the Eenkai, who, like their kin on the world of Throndar, had long shunned the veneration of any being, especially one of their own.
On 8 Bloom 822, Tempestant rose to the status of Cult Power. This marked the onset of a transformation in Nordern, a populace long accustomed to natural technology, who now embraced a fusion of traditional practices and the application of divine energy for health, agricultural productivity, and various utilitarian ends.
The Nordern civilization was saved from another devastating Bombing of Geb in 1692. Tempestant offered an escape route for the Nordern people, providing a means of departure from Geb's treacherous rainfall. This divine intervention materialized in the form of three rifts, known as Tempestant's Springs.
The presence of Diiv Kiir in Nordern influenced Tempestant's decision to intervene in mortal affairs. The delay in The Balance's approval of her measures led her to take a calculated risk. Defying the Mandate of the Heavens, she surmised that Bahamut would support her, as he desired the proliferation of the Diiv Kiir in Nordern.
At the legal hearing before The Balance, Tempestant received a remarkably lenient punishment. Theologians assert that Bahamut took a keen interest in the matter, as at the time Brucrumus had a scarcity of virtuous Diiv Kiir. When the Nordern people traversed the rifts to Bal-Kriav, they possessed Diiv Kiir of gold dragon lineage numbering close to two thousand. Since then, they have proliferated, concomitantly bolstering Bahamut's influence in the Lands of Purity.
Kyn'thoud, theologian of Helmstar - "In Divine Interest"
The Mistress of Gales, Tempestant, is a recent arrival to the divine hierarchy. Her Ascension was a strategic maneuver by The Balance, intended to counteract the sway of another Higher Power, Poseidon.
Tempestant has long been an ardent devotee of Phalgas, and other Exalted Entities. One of her progeny is the esteemed Lokestant.
Many pray to Tempestant, beseeching the fickle deity for clear weather, safe seas, or to unleash typhoons and storms upon their adversaries. However, Tempestant has been known to withdraw her favor from those who have displeased her.
