Belfdagny is an ancient city located in Huzar-Arân. It was founded at the start of the Lith-Crillion Era by soldiers of the army unit Hegmir Illof, which served under Kossuth during the Demon Spawn War. The unit was composed of efreet and firenewts, and fell under the overall command of the Quara'tun Covenant. After the war, the army of nearly 50,000 soldiers dispersed, and one group settled in the dark reaches of Maenedhel, following the path of Kossuth. This placed them in rivalry with followers of Surtur, as the enmity between the two groups grew worse after the war, with Surtur's followers seeking to transform vast swathes of land into fiery wastelands, while Kossuth's followers strove to live in harmony with those not resistant to fire.

The inhabitants of Belfdagny were among the earliest devotees of Kossuth. It wasn't long before they took up their deity's cause in the underbelly of Bal-Kriav, in the Huzar-Arân region, battling the fanatical sects of Kolprunn that were dedicated to the violence and domination espoused by the proselytizers of Surtur.

Belfdagny is situated within an expansive cavern, encircled by hundreds of geysers and a steaming hot river traversing its interior. All of the city's pedestrian zones feature grooves to facilitate navigation in the exceedingly humid and steam-filled atmosphere. Moss and fungus proliferate throughout the urban landscape, with many varieties serving as sustenance for the inhabitants. Walkways that lack proper maintenance are often treacherous, with a slippery surface necessitating the use of handrails for safe passage.

The engineers of Belfdagny, in response to the conflict with the fanatics of Kolprunn who seek to expand the Ofli Hrolmir, have constructed a series of canals that stretch northwest from Lake Hatosvir. These water-filled channels are utilized to counteract the lava tubes carving their way southwest from Fangath.
