| Map | Anassúmë River |
Anassúmë is a swiftly flowing river with headwaters near Lake Baurongor. After traversing the dense forests of the High Wood Country, it accelerates and expands in the Tribe Steppes. In this region, after the Monwuil Twine, it widens to a mile across as it flows southward through the Tamoroc plain. The river frequently experiences flooding as it passes the area of the Primordial Storm. As it delves deeper into the Northern Hordelands, the river carves a deep canyon through the Storsalds and into the Lands of Purity, ultimately emptying into the Galathien Sea.
Due to the presence of the Primordial Storm rift, the Anassúmë is inhabited by water archons and other non-native creatures. These entities predominantly reside within the portion of the river that traverses the rift.
The river spans less than a mile for much of its length, yet it is exceptionally deep. In certain areas, the waters are so profoundly deep that illumination fails to reach the riverbed. Where the Anassúmë confluences with the river Mutt Drool, there are caves descending deeply into the Underdark. During periods of substantial flooding, water surges down these caves and cascades over ledges overlooking the drow city Filion'lyr.
