The term Fallen Angel came into common parlance during the Creation War, spanning the period from 1486 DE to 8777 DE. It was the designation applied to those who had strayed from the righteous path, aligning themselves more closely with the foes the Nawirrûs Covenant sought to vanquish. The first to earn this ignominious title was Dališar.
In the God Era, a new Covenant, analogous to the previous one, battled the Demon hordes emerging from the Abyss. This conflict, the Demon Spawn War, spanning from 89 GE to 269 GE, was so protracted and savage that it compelled some to employ excessive and unethical methods against the foe.
Asmodeus grinned, and the fumes of a thousand skirmishes wafted from his lips. "As the Master of Combat," he noted, "you ought to comprehend better than anyone that warfare is a grimy endeavor. We have sullied ourselves so that you may retain your luster. We have upheld the statutes, not transgressed them." [ 1 ]
Asmodeus, to Heironeous - Trial of Asmodeus
On 3 Lunar 255 GE, Asmodeus and his subordinates were found culpable of repurposing soul energy for their personal schemes, amassing covert armies. The ringleader Asmodeus and his lieutenants, all Covenant generals, were divested of their celestial status and banished as Fallen Angels from the Mortal Systems.
