The Nalbirag Gold War commenced when a Neeth-Theen-backed mercenary army marched into the Nalbirag mountains. This force was led by a Conclave wizard named Râlê Yanizabâr. This avaricious khazarkar instigated the conflict, convincing his backers that Rumak's petrified giant, the mighty primordial Hettar, son of Piranoth, possessed tremendous magical power. Râlê assured them this god-like being would aid their ambition of becoming a preeminent regional power, feared and respected like the Khazarkar Empire. However, Râlê's true interest lay in the area's gold, using his patron's armies to seize mines controlled by two prominent merchant houses. One was overseen by a goblin merchant lord of the Ku'tiro family, renowned for their efficiency, shrewdness, and ancient bloodline with heroic legends dating back to the Demon Spawn War and the founding of Nemebhox. The Ku'tiros were based in Haag-Bre, claiming the river-side mines. The upper mines, facing the dreaded Festerdred valley, were controlled by the Ilad clan from Azudushmanam.
In the second year of the conflict, 1318, the city of Haag-Bre fell to an invading army composed of Mamorians and unsettling aberrations. With Nemebhox's naval forces dominating Rumak and its vital waterways, Râlê's advance was brought to a halt.
In 1322, Râlê's meticulous gold counting was disrupted by an urgent alarm. Haag-Bre was besieged from below by a formidable Uromon army. The following day, Nemebhox assumed a more assertive position in the conflict, subjecting Haag-Bre to a sustained naval bombardment.
A month later, as autumn approached, Râlê beckoned assistance from the Abyss. Thwarted when Uromon assassins infiltrated the summoning chamber, disrupting Râlê's spell, rather than ushering in a horde of lesser demons, hundreds of abyssal cattle stampeded throughout Haag-Bre. The combat shifted to fending off the foul-smelling bovines as defenders and invaders battled shoulder-to-shoulder against the water buffalo-sized beasts.
After Râlê lost Haag-Bre, he retreated to the city of Malardân. Neeth-Theen persisted with the conflict, returning to Haag-Bre only to be vanquished by an Uromon army in 1324. Following the war, Haag-Bre became a possession of Nemebhox.
In their conflict with Neeth-Theen, Uromons reported an assortment of entropic entities serving in Neeth-Theen's forces - rhinoceros-sized quadrupeds with malformed dwarven craniums, massive hill giants possessing three or four limbs, at least one exhibiting a club-like deformity, Mamorians, and two-headed entropic goblins with bony, sword-like appendages in place of arms.
