Founded by soldiers who had served under Bahamut during the Demon Spawn War ( 89 GE - 269 GE ) , the settlement of Suf Sungaar originated as a silver mining community and trading post. Trade journeyed down Rudkregs Cleave to the fiery holds of Yol Skerah, and on the surface, east to the majestic Sand Flow and west to the fens of Rath Jot.
In the year 600 HE, a prosperous city-state, Suf Sungaar, was conquered after a protracted two-year siege. Only a few days afterwards, Suf Sungaar was incorporated as a territory within the Zeymah'kein empire.
After the fall of Zeymah'kein (600 HE - 1600 HE), Suf Sungaar was gripped with unrest. Now a holding of Mir'piamauza, they struggled to maintain peace in a city that had long-standing connections below. When Mir'piamauza crumbled from internal strife, Suf Sungaar became the domain of petty tyrants. Thanks to the efforts of the Gorm Krip, the city retained sufficient order to remain relevant. The mines continued to operate, yielding a steady output of silver and gemstones, and trade flourished with their traditional partners in the fiery holds below - the city of Jothvauk, and smaller settlements around Agiid Hil and Sken Drog.
In 1314, the city of Suf Sungaar succumbed to the formidable forces of the Ag Envok Empire.
The district where many of the Kriistvrii reside features structures dating back to the era of the Zeymah'keinn. This area is densely populated by practitioners of evocation magic and serves as a training center for those devoted to the magical disciplines of the Path of Yolos Paagoliik.
Suf Sungaar possesses numerous internal fortresses that serve either as holds of the wealthy or as bastions for powerful organizations. The city's walls and buildings are constructed from a mixture of stones, including lava stone from the volcano Agiid Hil, obsidian transported from afar in Hlothram, granite, quartz, and rainbow-hued stone dredged from Suf Qahlon. Debauchery and lawlessness are the prevailing attributes of the city's inhabitants, where one's status is dictated by the number of slaves they possess, with even slaves owning other slaves. The city hosts a considerable population of fire giants, with 4,000 of them serving in the armies of Ag Envok or toiling in the canyon's arduous mines. The majority of these fire giants are descendants of the Talothand empire ( 212 HE - 780 HE ) ; those who favored the ideals of Primus remained in the general area after Talothand 's downfall, while the followers of Surtur ventured westward to establish new settlements.
