The less frequently used name of this system is Ellubôz, the Supernal term meaning "heel". Comprising nine core worlds, it was envisioned as an area of concentrated defenses, a place dedicated to cultivating and training armies to confront the looming threat. Bruh Kreniik, an Arch-Creationist, along with others, recognized that the efforts of the Creationists in crafting and populating worlds were drawing the attention of Chaos's masters, the Primordial Lords.

In the Creation War ( 1486 DE - 8777 DE ) , this system grew renowned as the Forge Worlds. With facilities dispersed across nine worlds, each concealed behind rings of strongholds and arcane barriers, they cultivated armies, instructed commanders, and manufactured arms for soldiers battling throughout the known realm.

In the God Era, the Forge Worlds served as a strategic asset for the Covenant. They supplied and trained soldiers for the prolonged Demon Spawn War, where the Covenant confronted an unrelenting onslaught of demons emerging from the Abyss.

In 139 GE, a Well of Afterlife was transported to Dis. Those orchestrating this operation, sanctioned by Creationists rather than the Covenant, were Asmodeus and Dispater. They concealed this soul-drawing artifact deep beneath a Covenant military hospital. Aiding their efforts to maintain secrecy, the patients who visited this hospital were loyalists, much like many scattered across the Forge Worlds, who regarded Asmodeus and his advisors as the local authorities.

The soldiers across the Covenant hold this man in high esteem, a tactician of exceptional renown, cunning, and possessing an intellect that would cause a mind flayer to quiver. His modus operandi revolves around outmaneuvering his adversaries. With this trial, are we perhaps playing directly into his hands? Might he be seeking indictment as part of his greater strategy?

Geb, journal notes of the Trial of Asmodeus - "Day 1"

For military reasons, five of the system's worlds are linked by the River Styx. This river enters and exits each world via permanent Rifts. The first world encountered is Avernus, and the final destination is Stygia. Bruh Kreniik created this river in response to the growing threat emerging from what was then known as Piranoth's Steps. His spies were providing reports of Piranoth's acts of creation. They claimed he was becoming overzealous with Creation, constructing too many worlds too rapidly. Bruh Kreniik recognized this did not bode well, as it was not being undertaken with the tenets of Law - planning, order, and discipline. His concerns proved justified, as during the Abyssal Release (7777 DE - 8777 DE), the primordials would ultimately lose the entire system.

The Abyssal Release gave way to the Demon Spawn War. What was then known as Ellubôz or the Forge Worlds served as a foundation of security built over the previous conflict. It once more became an armaments production and training area for the Covenant's legions. The one in charge of this system's operation was Asmodeus. Beneath him were his steadfast lieutenants, die-hard loyalists. They trained the armies, constructed fortresses, stocked arsenals, and oversaw the thousands of forges manufacturing weapons and armor. As the war progressed, Asmodeus and others concurred that harsher methods were necessary to overcome the demon's numerical advantage.

While the war raged on in the Quara'tun System, with their activities concealed from other Covenant leaders, Asmodeus and Dispater focused on harvesting souls. Utilizing the Well of Afterlife they had established on Dis, they assembled a covert army. This force was intended to handle any incursions through the river Styx. The soldiers comprising this army were wayward souls drawn to the Well, possessing a diabolical (lawfully evil) mindset. They were equipped to combat the demons on equal terms, willing to employ underhanded tactics and any means necessary to emerge victorious. Deployed in secret along the Styx and undertaking expeditions into the Abyss, they waged the ruthless war that many in the Covenant opposed. This clandestine army, built to navigate the hostile terrain and brutal conflict, were the first devils.

When Asmodeus and his lieutenants became Fallen Angels, they were banished from the Mortal Systems. They returned to the Forge Worlds, a domain that would become renowned as The Hells, or the Nine Hells, under their sovereignty.
