Diiv Revakaad, the Wyrm Sanctum, originated as a base for former Covenant soldiers who sided with Tiamat during the First Dragon Wake (218 GE - 235 GE). Situated at the head of a major river, the bastion expanded into a significant stronghold after its capture by Bahamut's forces in 221 GE, supplying the Covenant's war effort against the demons and Tiamat's followers. By the time Tiamat was forced out of the conflict, the sanctum's ports had stretched along the river to the shores of Witch Tear.
After the Demon Spawn War (89 GE - 269 GE), Covenant strongholds like Diiv Revakaad were transferred to civilian control. With Kriistvrii ex-soldiers who had served under Bahamut comprising the majority, Diiv Revakaad evolved into an autonomous city-state focused on mercantile pursuits and an expanding religious community devoted to their former general.
Colonist crusaders became a common term during the early history of this city. They launched a campaign to expand their territory and eradicate pockets of evil. Driven by a crusader mindset, they sought to eliminate all that was associated with Chaos, particularly demons. The effort grew more organized and successful under the town's first High Marshall, a title that had not been used since the Demon Spawn War, and then only for angels serving the Quara'tun Covenant or dragons under Bahamut. Mulcantan, the First High Marshall of Diiv Revakaad, conceived a plan to settle areas along a line from Diiv Revakaad to the Laag Grimolii mountains; the city of Gaard Goraag and others were founded on Mulcantan's desire for a dragon-blood homeland.
In 988 HE, experiencing pressure from Zeymah'kein and a fervent nationalist desire for an expansive Kriistvrii state, Diiv Revakaad became part of the Zeymah'kein Empire.
In the Third Burn (1504 HE - 1522 HE), the once-flourishing Diiv Revakaad succumbed to the domination of the Mir'piamauza Empire. After the downfall of Mir'piamauza, Diiv Revakaad languished as a ruin, home to wild beasts and monstrous entities. Late in the Horgon Era, the city was revived through the collaborative efforts of the Aggorath and the Muneyd'vith, steadily developing into a thriving city-state over the subsequent centuries.
