Eylami is an expansive, forested, and hilly valley that originates from the slopes of Fjorvir's central glacial expanse. Extending southward, it carves through the central regions of Melvad, terminating near Izagûnê. The valley is home to towering evergreens, with Faryon being the most dominant timber species.
The colossal faryon trees, with their bases spanning twenty to thirty feet in diameter and branches sturdy enough to bear the weight of a mighty earth giant, stand as a noble and majestic gift from Silvanus to us ordinary mortals. The giants of Eylami construct their fortified stockades using mature faryon timber, reserving the ancient trees either too difficult to fell with local tools or for use in a chieftain's hall. This timber renders these bastions as formidable as most stone fortresses. One might assume that such structures would succumb to flames, but it takes decades for faryon to dry out, rendering it unsuitable for burning, yet highly resistant to flaming oil or walls of fire.

Among the tall hills, deep ravines, and towering faryon canopies of Eylami are Earth Giant camps, stockades, and fortresses. These giants, descendants of those who settled in Izen'nâth during the Dawn Era, have inhabited this area for millennia. During the reign of the Aslauthroa Empire, their sizable population had to be controlled by military governors, and their reproduction had to be limited to maintain order. After this empire's collapse, the earth giant population endured cyclical famines, a consequence of unchecked growth and over-hunting. For several centuries, these periods of starvation occurred one or two times per decade. The scarcity led to conflicts over hunting grounds and raids on adjacent territories for sustenance. One of their preferred hunting grounds outside Eylami became the plains of Âruk. As a result of the abundant game in this region, the Hakkhild and other tribes decided to relocate to the northern reaches of Ânul, across the Dargirth.
When the Khazarkar Empire expanded westward across Cinazan and constructed their grand cities along the Sahânzar, they took it upon themselves to restrain the troublesome population of earth giants. The giants and the Khazarkars have only once formed an alliance. During the Cinazan Front, several giant tribes and hundreds of mercenary giants fought alongside the Khazarkar Empire. Their reasons for joining what are traditionally their adversaries varied, but largely stemmed from one of three factors - the influence of shamans urging the will of their god Geb, the lure of gold from recruiters offering double the usual pay, or an alliance to combat a greater threat.
One of the most coveted products originating from Eylami is a remarkably resilient variety of cotton known as Svatir. Garments such as cloaks, robes, and other attire crafted with this material can endure for decades beyond the lifespan of ordinary cotton.
