Jurusalax was one of the siblings of Gabin Kûn. He had been afflicted since birth, infused with the entropic energy of the Chaos and the malignant forces permeating the realms of Piranoth's Steps.
At the age of 10, Jurusalax had fully matured, exhibiting a spiteful and murderous disposition. This predatory nature was believed to stem from Jurusalax's inherent craving for blood. Some even postulate that Jurusalax may have been the inaugural blood fiend - a type of demon that perpetuates its kind by preying upon other demons.
After Jurusalax was discovered behind a plot to murder his father, he was captured and imprisoned in the maze of cells under Naratyr called Berronihx. During his sentence, he was chained down where he was gnawed on by rats and other vermin. It was during this period that he befriended a pack of rune hounds wandering the prison labyrinth. The process of gaining their trust took five years and was fraught with difficulties. Initially, the rune hounds perceived his gestures of friendship as a threat, so they spat their noxious bile on him. Yet, this proved beneficial, as it rid the area of the pesky creatures gnawing on his sides. One day, when the guards came to retrieve him for routine torture, they were attacked by the pack of rune hounds. Jurusalax, a demon akin to a blood-sucking Vampire long deprived of sustenance, joined the fray, biting and draining the guards that fell beside him. The rune hounds then chewed away Jurusalax's hands and feet, freeing him from his shackles. They then dragged him out of Berronihx and left him to his fate. However, his regenerative abilities saved him from the ravages of the countless critter feedings, and in due time, his hands and feet were restored.
Jurusalax rose to prominence late in the Abyssal Release (7777 DE - 8777 DE). During this conflict, the demons rebelled against the primordials and battled for dominance over what was then known as Piranoth's Steps, which would later become the Abyss. Jurusalax seized a portion of the world Barbamor and successfully defended it against the primordials attempting to reclaim it, as well as other ambitious demon lords seeking to establish their own power.
After the Abyssal Release, the demons were not content with merely possessing the Abyss; they sought to seize anything else they could by force or cunning. In the Demon Spawn War, Jurusalax's demon sorcerers employed primordial relics to crack the Web of Magic, creating a rift between the worlds of Barbamor and Kriav. For nine arduous years, his forces attempted to secure a domain on this world, but the fighting proved costly and nothing could be firmly held. This was because at the time, Kriav was still reeling from the Cube Collapse.
Magic on Kriav is inherently unpredictable, and everything native to the world appears capable of executing some form of magical trick or feat. Initially, this magic was unrefined, with creatures employing rays, cones, or walls to harm their adversaries. However, in the centuries that followed, the more intelligent species have mastered the art of channeling magic for the purposes of disguise, manipulation, and mobility.
Corellon, status update from Kriav to the Quara'tun Covenant - "The Arcane Talents of Kriav"
As a result of the formidable opposition on Kriav, Jurusalax turned to his demon sorcerers and the last of the rift-making relics in his possession. They used this to once again split the Web of Magic, opening a rift between Kriav and the world Bal-Kriav. In 109 GE, the armies of Jurusalax departed Kriav for another mortal realm. This marked the beginning of the Zythess Front. The Núlananya Rift was employed by the invaders to assault Honmin. In this land, his forces were contested by those under Callarduran. When Ares, then Supreme Commander of the Quara'tun Covenant, ordered the withdrawal from Hezmort, Callarduran refused, stating that he could not abandon the gnomes. Callarduran failed to halt the waves of demons pouring through the Núlananya Rift. He saved his gnomes, but perished battling Jurusalax and more than a hundred runehounds. One Gimrune legend claims that it was not Jurusalax who delivered the final blow, but a mound of dead hounds that suffocated Callarduran.
After Callarduran's demise, the demons seized control of Hezmort. The ever-eccentric Jurusalax then dedicated himself to constructing his own empire, utilizing captured Gimrune to bolster his domains with ornate architecture, devices, and engineering wonders.
After the closing of the Núlananya Rift, the archangel Silvanus hunted Jurusalax Upon locating him, Silvanus immediately severed the demon lord from his packs of demon hounds Thereafter, they engaged in a fierce battle Jurusalax repeatedly blew his horn, hoping to summon his most deadly weapons - his hounds - to his aid However, Silvanus's sprites had lured the hounds into a frenzy, chasing the euphoric aroma of the flying fey Ultimately, Jurusalax was slain by Silvanus on 10 Lunar 162 GE While most of his hounds and minions were defeated, some of Jurusalax's rune hound pups managed to survive These descendants of the demon hounds now lurk in Logor
