The Burterinii family established the Kingdom of Burterinii in 354. Ing-Serold served as the inaugural capital of this newly formed realm.

In 601, Queen Bleeberghast led the Kingdom. She had two sisters who themselves ruled a Tragaran kingdom. These three queens of the Burterinii family were the power and the brains behind their thrones. Queen Bleeberghast was compelled to take her nation to war when she endeavored to stabilize the ongoing conflict between the Niratar Theocracy and the Cal-Thaoun Dynasty. In what became known as the War of the Three Queens, the forces of the Burterinii were embroiled in the conflict in an attempt to prevent either side from destroying the other. Queen Bleeberghast is revered to this day for the public works and charitable institutions she created, despite her reign being a period of lax laws and high corruption.

In the Conclave War, numerous members of the royal Burterinii bloodline were ruthlessly hunted down and eliminated by soldiers of the First Khazarkar Empire. The swiftness of the Khazarkar triumphs compelled the Burterinii people to undertake a forced migration across the channel to the island of Hargul. When the Conclave War concluded, the majority of the surviving Burterinii population had taken refuge on this island, while others sailed northward to the northern reaches of Ma'Ohari. Over the ensuing three years, the Hargul refugees were transported to the northern islands of Gulimbor and then to newly established settlements in Ma'Ohari. With the demise of its former rulers, the government fell under the control of the military. Admiral Thrak assumed the de-facto leadership of the Burterinii until the restoration of civil governance in early 1018. The royal Luru-Zir family established a new government at Thrakopolis.

Burterinii are distinguished by their lustrous golden or crimson hair, aquiline noses, and resonant voices. The Burterinii's voice is powerful and commands the attention of all who hear it. Certain governments actively recruit Burterinii Tragarans for their diplomatic corps, employing them as speakers for significant events or delicate negotiations.

The Burterinii are a resilient people, with a history of facing threats from hostile empires and perilous encounters at sea with undead raiders from the Black Tide of Thasmudyan and pirates of the Buccaneer Archipelago. For nearly three centuries, the Burterinii and the Bloodtusk Regime were engaged in minor conflicts along the coasts of Ma'Ohari. The majority of these clashes transpired at sea, as the interior jungles of the land are exceedingly dense and treacherous, rendering overland travel unfeasible.

In the year 1795, the Burterinii military and tens of thousands of pirates from the Buccaneer Archipelago formed an alliance to combat the Bloodtusk Regime. The Burterinii-Bloodtusk War ( 1795 - 1800 ) witnessed a series of monumental naval battles and sieges of three prominent harbors. The conflict culminated at Tâchumâz, toppling the reign of the dreaded admiral-king Jairall and his sinister kingdom.

The Burterinii have also engaged in wars with the abhorrent hordes of the Malshirk'iss and the fire-dwellers of Goth-Dyvermoir. They provided assistance to the stone giants of Mughakh-Gol during the Four Pillars Conflict. In the year 926, the stone giants were offered citizenship within the Burterinii empire. As a consequence of this union between vastly disparate peoples, the cities and fortifications of the Burterinii now boast awe-inspiring structures of immense size and strength.

All the realm's municipalities are deep-water harbors situated along the shores of Ma'Ohari. Burterinii controls the previous territories, excluding Ren-Jorusk, of the Bloodtusk Regime.
