In 1830, the lands of Cinazan, largely governed by the Khazarkar Empire, were afflicted by the Flux Pact. This development drew the Khazarkar Empire into the Cinazan Front and the ensuing Chaos War.

The band of heroes, codenamed Hulkurân Zagar by the Church of Set, was formed in Hulkurân. Under the guidance of the lich exarch Tanazarân, they were one of several groups, the Maul Seekers, assigned with locating ancient relics that, when unified, possessed the power to destroy an Entropy Arch. The purpose of this final weapon was the eradication of the Entropy Arch within the occupied titan citadel of Garaldrarg.

In 1832, Hulkurân was sacked by forces serving the Flux Pact. Tanazarân was killed in this attack and succeeded by another agent who took on the moniker High Seeker of Relics. This individual dispatched the Hulkurân Zagar to an ancient ruin in the Aerie of Dragons. At Froglem, they sought parts for a staff that would unveil the whereabouts of various artifacts. In the ancient ruin of Froglem, they were wiped out after encountering a formidable black dragon and a team of Conclave wizards, including the High Seeker of Relics - a double agent serving both the Eldritch Conclave and the Pharzîmrâth.

Revived by a phylactery, Tanazarân set out in search of his missing team. Upon discovering their discarded bones, he implored the dragon to stand aside or face the full wrath of Arcana. Tanazarân, a double agent serving both the Tarkazgir and the Ishtu Irrai, then carried the bones to Phollûmâ, the Covenant's Holy Bastion. There, he revived them using the Valhalla Sarcophagi, reincarnating them with their minds intact but imbued with the skills and abilities of a heroic Valhalla soul. Yet, this came at a cost, as Tanazarân's body was consumed by holy flames, and they heard him singing the Valhalla Battle Prayer.

Lo, there I behold my father. Lo, there I behold my mother. My sisters and my brothers. Lo, there I see my people. Back to the commencement. Lo, there they summon me. And bid me to assume my position. In the Halls of Valhalla. Where the courageous may exist eternally.

Valhalla Battle Prayer

The Hulkurân Zagar, now greatly altered in their abilities and appearances, renamed themselves to a more fitting title to reflect their transformed state and the dubious forces that influenced them. They now refer to themselves as the Trauma Squad and have been assigned a new agent, Migarzôn, who is a close confidant of Tanazarân.

Later in 1832, they were dispatched to Torazan Sanctum to track down and bring back the High Seeker of Relics and to recover a relic to be used in summoning the Sig Mak Gan. At Torazan Sanctum, the group suffered devastating losses, with several of its founding members perishing. After recruiting new members, they succeeded in taking over Torazan Sanctum, plundering the labyrinth of its riches. They found the Scion Stump of Lukoon and a gold clockwork that was the key to entering a secret labyrinth under Imrik. They returned the High Seeker of Relics to the Pharzîmrâth, where he was offered in sacrifice to Set.

Later that year, Trauma Squad was dispatched to the ruined Urkuzir keep in Avalê. Unbeknownst to the Urkuzirs, the family relic they sought was also one of the items targeted by the Maul Seekers. At Avalê, the party fought through a horde of powerful undead and several demons. They learned that the Black Tide of Thasmudyan were harvesting bodies from the Cinazan Front and storing them at Avalê before they could be transported by Harvesters. In the final battle, Trauma Squad eliminated a member of the Second Dead Council named Sekbire. Amidst the ruins, they recovered the item they had been sent to retrieve, the Shield of Thular-Tûr.

In Hollow 1833, the Trauma Squad journeyed to Imrik in pursuit of the final component required to construct the Sig Mak Gan.

A month later, whispers circulated that the most renowned of the Maul Seekers had fallen in a momentous battle. They engaged in combat with mind flayers, fire giants, and demons across a half-mile expanse of tunnels and chambers. The report proved highly precise, even detailing three survivors and two bodies retrieved, as they were driven back into a vast chamber housing a Cerberus Pup. It was here that the fire giants halted their pursuit, instead taking up positions in a grand viewing area, spectators to a great three-headed hound, scion of Cerberus, Terror of Frellrar, as it tore into the beleaguered heroes.
