Geb, also known as the God of Shakes on Bal-Kriav, and to the earth giants, Grumbar, is an ancient being. He is the progeny of the primordial creationist Piranoth. Geb was born from the same primordial energy that brought into existence Sphere 411, more commonly referred to as the world Bal-Kriav. As Piranoth was shaping and populating this world, his foresight revealed that it would become the center of many major conflicts. To prevent the world from being torn down and thrown back into Chaos, Piranoth had his agents plant a primordial seed within it. This type of entropic contamination was often enough to destabilize a newly formed world. Although Piranoth's creator, Benevolence, recognized this, he chose to overlook it out of goodness. This decision would come to haunt him during the Creation War when the Nawirrûs Covenant had to confront the ravages of Geb and other primordials.

Long before man and beast, a deity was born in this realm. He was imbued with the primal energies of Chaos, his form forged of earth, rock, iron, silver, and other metals. When Geb came into being, the earth was sundered, giving rise to Gurnskolf, Basskaff, and the Kernsking Koils.

Thraedli Legend, "Creation of Geb"

Geb was granted life on the world Bal-Kriav, or so the Thraedli claim. They assert that he was born in the depths of Melvad, and upon awakening, the earth rent asunder, creating a profound rift known as Basskaff and an immense earth mote designated Gurnskolf. These two areas remain partially connected by tendrils of pulsating vegetation, the Kernsking Koils.

In the year 216 of the Godly Era, Geb and Bahamut confined Kerath, a Progeny of Baltalas.

Both Geb and Surtur are remnants of the bygone era before mortals, when the gods and primordials clashed over the spoils of creation. The forces of Creation sought to preserve the worlds, while the primordials yearned to destroy them all. In the epic Creation War, most primordials were either annihilated, imprisoned, or driven back into the abyss of Chaos. Yet, Geb and Surtur endured. These resilient beings were frequently detected by angelic trackers, but assaulting them required a coordinated effort, leading the primordials to flee. Geb burrowed deep within Bal-Kriav, excavating a vast network of caves and tunnels, a labyrinthine maze, collapsing many passages behind him. The trackers lost their quarry, and when they did catch up, they were defeated, fighting on Geb's terms. Surtur followed a similar path, burning his way into the earth, leaving a wake of magma and fire in his wake. These two primordials proved adept at evading pursuit and engaging only when conditions favored them. Ultimately, the gods and their angels abandoned the chase, entrusting the task of guarding against primordial misdeeds to mortalkind. Yet, no such attacks came, for both Geb and Surtur had embraced their growing status and popularity among the mortal realms. As the gods gained worshippers and power, Geb and Surtur soon followed suit.

The High Theologian of Thrakopolis, Habanin, on the topic of "Primordial Gods"

Early in the Creation War, Geb and the Master of Tides collaborated, devastating the fledgling world of Moyawel. This obliteration of the nascent planet gave rise to a substantial asteroid belt, subsequently named the Belt of Geb. Following this cataclysmic event, Geb refrained from wielding his earthly powers to incite such widespread devastation ever again.

In the God Era, as part of the Nautrek Deal, Geb aligned with the Quara'tun Covenant. During the Demon Spawn War ( 89 GE - 269 GE ) , his forces opposed the efforts of Zuggtmoy to lay claim to the subterranean regions of Faeglor.

On 5 Brightstar 355, Geb joined The Balance. He joined the deities Arcana and Silvanus, assisting in breaking their frequent deadlocks in decision-making. Geb was selected due to his expanding worshiper base and impartiality. He fell out of favor with The Balance when his involvement in mortal affairs resulted in the rise of Rilirthad and the fall of Tinnanguth. Geb has remained silent on this issue, though theologians claim his activities were undertaken to thwart the schemes of his arch-enemy Surtur. Geb has steadily grown in power as the Brownlands expand. Geb's increasing influence is constrained by Lokestant, who counters the earth of Geb with water, utilizing her followers and other powers to impede the flow of earth elemental matter spilling from the Togomud Sink. One of Lokestant's creations, a "divine helping hand" in the conflict between the two, is the Waterhaven Channel.

In the Year 1443, Geb collaborated with the mortal Sakazrân Garbanâth to destroy the Sceptre of Phenul-Tamrâk. The purpose of this action was to restore stability to the erratic weather patterns afflicting Gulimbor. These unnatural meteorological phenomena were among the lingering consequences of the Gulimbor Cataclysm ( 996 - 1203 ) .

Geb is revered by farmers, miners, Underdark expeditioners, neutrally aligned Earthen, and those in pursuit of secure ground and transit. The faith of this deity has expanded to the surface from Underdark missionaries. Owing to Geb's potency, clerics of this divinity acquire a +1 inherent bonus to their constitution score.

The priests of Geb can hail from diverse backgrounds, though those with a particular emphasis on the earth are more prevalent. Geb's most devoted followers are primarily found within the Underdark. The religious hierarchy of Geb's faith is founded more on individual merit rather than one's status as an ordained cleric.
